The Cévennes

The National Park of the Cévennes is a spectacular area of the South of France. Recently chosen by Unesco as a World Heritage Site, the region offers a wide variety of landscapes, from mountains and plunging river gorges to rolling limestone plateaux and sun filled valleys sheltering tiny hamlets.

There is an array of wild flowers in the spring, eagles and vultures soar on the thermals and little disturbs the daily peace but the sound of distant sheep bells carried on the breeze.

Little known
Despite its many charms, the Cévennes remains largely undiscovered and many breathtaking paths are rarely trodden, making your walks feel all the more special.

Relax and Escape...
The Cévennes seem to have a certain magic that induces relaxation. Whilst not easily defined, it offers something of a respite from the stresses and strains of the modern world. The area has a proud tradition of independence, free thinking and resistance which continues today. The Cevenol people are proud of the region and delighted to share it with those who appreciate its charms.
